Hunting and Conservation
Some people may not realize that Hunting can and does help in conservation efforts around the world. It’s also one of the oldest and most important practices in Human History. Before Hunting was considered a sport, it was a way of life. Influencing even Human Nomad Cultures on where to migrate and when. In many ways, hunting keeps us close to our heritage.
What is Conservation?
Conservation is the careful maintenance and upkeep of a natural resource to prevent it from disappearing.
Around the world hunting helps to regulate animal populations. This is important because it prevents any 1 species from overpopulating which can lead to natural habitat destruction, disease outbreaks and starvation. Population management of both prey and predator species helps to keep a healthy balance of our ecosystems. Hunters often fill out surveys and provide game samples to biologists for disease testing. This provides researchers and your local authorities with valuable information that helps them to learn more about the diseases threatening local wildlife populations.
Hunters often volunteer for habitat improvement projects and make donations to conservation efforts around the world. Hunting costs help fund research projects and organizations dedicated to environmental conservation, wildlife rehabilitation programs, scientific research. This money comes from taxes on firearms and ammunitions, hunting licenses, land stamps and other required hunting fees in that region. All of which, stimulate the economy.
